Brief Descriptions of Regularly Taught Courses

Genetics
Robert regularly teaches Genetics (BIOL 2411).  This course is essentially the third introductory course in the A&M--SA Biology Program's curriculum, as it is required of all majors, regardless of track.  Topics covered during this course include: Mendelian genetics, mitosis and meiosis, linkage and linkage mapping, DNA replication, genome organization and chromosomal variation, gene expression, regulation of gene expression, and the basics of biotechnology.  The laboratory component of this course is currently being revised and will increasingly focus on providing students with skills in molecular genetics and data visualization, manipulation, and analysis.
Other Courses (taught regularly in the past or occasionally now)
(1) Statistics in Biology & Medicine
(2) Introduction to Cellular & Molecular Biology (General BIOL I)
(3) Integrative Biology Seminar
(4) Vertebrate Zoology
(5) Evolutionary Theory
